Artist Bio

Nanette has been passionately interested in art ever since she accidentally drew a tricycle in three-point perspective at age three.

Although she always wanted to be an artist, she also wanted to make a contribution in other ways. After earninga BFA in fine art and photography from the University of Maryland in BaltimoreCounty,
Nanette returned to school to earn an M.ed
in Special Education.

After teaching for 9 years, she once again returned to school to earn a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and moved into high education as the Director of the Learning Center at several local colleges and universities.

Throughout her career in both secondary and postsecondary education, she continued working in her “other” vocationas an artist and photographer. She has shown her work widely, won numerous
awards for her work, and has been juried into a number of competitive art and photography exhibitions.

Her work hangs in private collections throughout the US and internationally. After teaching college students for 18 years, she has takenan early retirement to dedicate her time exclusively to her artwork and to her philanthropic projects in Burundi.
